Lets get somebody of stature in and state our ambition!!! Also PLEASE MR FENTY GiVE THE NEXT MANAGER THE RESOURCES HE REQUIRES TO MAKE US A SUCCESS! UTM!!! |

Can we get him would we dare go for him - what a massive lift and coup for the Town that would be!! And the thing is with 'Olly' he might just be crazy enough to come - we can but dream!! Other more realistic names being linked (I'd personally welcome with open arms) include: Andy Ritchie (we'd play good attacking football), and Mike Newell would also be good for the club (bungs aside!) Two ex-mariners being linked are Richard O'Kelly and Paul Wilko - both magnificent players in their day and experienced coaches, I don't think it'd be a risk to appoint either of these lads who know Grimsby Town inside out. What we don't want is a journeyman looking to kill more time i.e. a Steve Thompson or a Mark Wright. We don't want a manager with more clubs than Nick Faldo to his name. I don't think Nigel Clough would be the answer either - as non-league footy goes Nigel has had a few bob, has a cracking set-up at Burton and still gets no closer to getting them out the Conference. One last name to toy with - SUPER KEVIN DRINKELL!! He had a decent record in Scotland and could be worth a punt?? The interest he'd generate within the Town would be a big lift for the club. COME ON FENTY GIVE US SOME CHEER!! UP THE MARINERS!! |

Are you sure. he was an abject failure at Wycombe and now has become the moth piece for Redknapp and Jordan at Pompey. Player managers haven't been hugely succesful at GTFC of late and of the names thrown about Newell, Hollaway and Ritchie would all be acceptable. Alternatively they could go with an Assistant from a higher league like Richard O'Kelly or Colin Cooper. I just pray they go through a thorough and proper process to give theselves the best chance of making the right decision |

Tony Adams is a leader of men and he knows how to defend. He's the sort of guy that players would want to play for & thats all important. We need someone that quality players will want to come and play for. Out of the names being mentioned my vote would also go to Ivano. It would certainly make things really interesting and i think that would wet the appetite of allmost every supporters curiosity & in turn have fans flocking back to BP to see how it all unfolds. UTM!!! |

Yes he has a few bob but he's not Roman Abramovich either!! Without knowing the ins and outs, I've heard stories that he's dipped into his own pocket a few times to help pay off the debts. However I agree with the previous post, this is not the time for a cheap option - unfortunately because of our poor start we've already got Rotherham on our heels despite the headstart we were given. One would also expect Luton and Bournemouth to pull back their handicap too. We need a fine tactician and motivator of players - and i would imagine one of these won't come cheap. The new manager needs to be able to inspire the players and get the best out of his current resources and change results swiftly because i'm sure we can't give him a big pot for the January window. This appointment is probably the most important one you will make Mr Fenty - please do not go for the cheap option. No to Watkiss (no offence), but we need a clean sweep at the club, somebody to come in to give the players a rocket and start getting the best out of them. |

We need a new man to come in and make his own history. I'm sure Watkiss is an honest man who will give the job his best effort - he may even pick up a couple of results, but we need a new long term appointment. Let's get the fans footballing juices flowing again!! Let's generate some interest again in our once proud club. |

This might initially sound like a daft idea..but think about it for a few minutes and just think of the bennefits. We could wittingly be getting a fresh new manager who's father is an established premiership manager. You only have to look at the way Jamie himself plays to know he would be full of fresh new idea's,not to mention the experience he could bring & must have accumilated under various different high profile managers throughout his career.Im sure the pompy have lots of good up and coming talent so the door could open for some sort of link with portsmouth as im sure Harry would support his son in "any" way he could if you know what i mean. nudge nudge wink wink! |

Keep taking names & applications MR FENTY but DON'T do anything rash! Give stuart his chance and lets see if he can impose his own idea's.You could allways argue that Wattkiss has been here throughtout buckley's rein and GR's.Has he had much of a say in team matters. How much of an influence has he had on the final decisions made by the managers. You could argue that he should have been sacked along with AB so i think its only fair he now gets a chance to prove his worth(at least until the end of this season),and in failing to do so also pack his suitcase. ITS NOT A GOOD TIME TO BE APPOINTING A NEW MANAGER AND IF WE DO BRING SOMEONE IN EXPECTATIONS WILL BE HIGH AND IF A NEW MANAGER FAILS AFTER TAKING OVER AT THIS POINT IN OUR EXISTENCE OUR CLUB WILL BE IN UTTER TURMOIL AND THE DEPTHS OF DOOM AND GLOOM WILL BECOME BOTTOMLESS. OUR BELOVED CLUB CARN'T AFFORD TO MAKE ANOTHER BAD DECISION OR WE'LL BECOME EXTINCT. MR FENTY GIVE THE JOB TO WATTKISS AT LEAST UNTIL THE END OF THE SEASON AND BRING MACCA IN TO WORK AS STUARTS ASSISTANT.ITS THE CHEAP OPTION AS PEOPLE WILL SAY BUT ITS ALSO THE RIGHT DECISION FOR GTFC.EXPECTATION WILL BE KEPT IN ORDER & YOU WILL HAVE SUFFICIENT TIME TO ASSESS ALL THE POSSIBILITIES. WHILE NOBODY WOULD EXPECT TOO MUCH FROM A WATTKISS MACCA COMBO I CAN GUARENTEE THAT THE FANS WOULD GET BEHIND SUCH A DUO AND EVEN IN FAILURE NOBODY WOULD HOLD IT AGAINST THEM OR YOURSELF FOR GIVING THEM THE OPPORTUNITY. I SERIOUSLY DOUBT WE WOULD BE RELAGATED AND THERES A GOOD CHANCE THEY COULD SUPRISE EVERYONE AND BE A SUCCESS. KEEP TAKING NAMES AND APPLICATIONS WITH A VIEW THAT THERE MIGHTY BE A VACANT MANAGERS POST TO BE FILLED AT BP IN THE CLOSED SEASON. ("IF" A WATTKISS MACCA COMBO FAILS TO TURN OUR FORTUNES!!!) UP THE MARINERS !!! |
