Am i right in thinking that Watkiss will remain as number 2 when the new man is appointed? I hope i am reading it wrong - we need a clean sweep at the club. A new boss and new assistant with no pre-conceived ideas about the players in the squad. Everybody should be starting on an even keel; the players should have to fight for their shirts and the new men could pick the first eleven based on efforts in training. If Watkiss remains as number 2 no doubt he will have a major say in who gets a shirt and the players he favours (including loan signings) will get their noses in front, and so our fruitless season will carry on in the same vein. Come on Fenty, stick your neck out - you said you want the next appointment to galvanise the squad and the fans. Let's have new MEN with new ideas. Let the lads have to earn their shirts once more rather than relying on the old pals with Watkiss act. UP THE MARINERS! |

Watkiss seems very likely to remain as number 2 despite him publically saying the team aren't fit enough. Didnt he have a major part to play in pre season training? Didnt Watkiss have any involvement in tactics and watching and trying to attract new players during the last 2 years? If not he has been taking his wages under false pretences, and if so then he is at the very least partially responsible for the clubs predicament. Either way he should go BUT I guess finances will dictate otherwise |
