Does anybody know of any millionaires who might be interested in buying out Fenty? Someone told me that the Car phone Warehouse owner might be interested but wouldn’t get involved whilst Fenty is at the helm, is there any truth to this?

That post doesnt make sense?? You say the Carphone Warehouse owner is interested in buying the club - but he isnt going to do anything while Fenty is in charge.

If the Carphone Warehouse owner (David Ross???) bought the club then Fenty wouldnt be in charge would he.

Well then David Ross is never going to put money in is he - because for Fenty to leave the club then somebody would have to buy him out and take on the burden of financing the team.

Whoever told you that is talking out of their arse.

I personally think if David Ross was even interested in the slightest then he would have made a move by now.

This "speculation" about Mr Ross coming to rescue us has only stemmed from this fans forum - if there was any truth in it whatsoever, becuase of his high profile it would have been in the national broadsheets and tabloids, Sky Sports would've been all over it by now too.

It's a lovely dream world suggestion by one fan - and that's all it is.

Mr Ross has just accepted an invitation to assist in the preparations for the 2012 London Olympics - I think his time is going to occupied for the next 4 years; as well as getting London ready he also has the small matter of running a hugely successful business empire.

I wouldn't imagine bailing us out is high on his list of priorities at the moment; and i would imagine the Telegraph are not in a rush for this "exclusive"!!!!

Perhaps our time might be better served by starting a petition begging Mr Ross to at least give us some consideration in the future.

Don't get me wrong - i'd love him to come along and save us but it ain't gonna happen now. Let's leave the subject here and get along with what we've got.

get your facts right ****head,he,s already stated in the press in the past that he would be interested in buying the club when he has less business interests, nobody said he was going to buy it tomorrow, just think we should ask him now because we have nothing to lose,he was on the board at leicester, and he doesnt own carphone warehouse anymore,he was co founder and now owns just under 20% and also has an interest in cosalt,

Fair comment gy_dave but was there really any need for the ****head remark?

Ginger_fool is right in saying that David Ross has just accepted a postion on the Olympics Commitee for 2012. As far as I am aware it entails him being responsible for all the finances of the London Games - whether that be income from tourism etc or expenses such as building the infrastructure.

I would have thought that this position will be taking up almost all of his time - so while he may wish to buy help the club in the future I cant see any point in discussing this now or at any point in the next 5/6 years.

Can you put a link on here then Dave directing me to the article where David Ross said he'd buy us out because i've certainly never seen it.

And the **** head remark was bang out of order. Everybody's entitled to their opinion. Nice to see such unity amongst town fans!! Fact of the matter is Fenty's not going anywhere at the moment and Ross is a distant dream. That's not to say when his current project with the olympics is finished he might need something else to get his teeth stuck into - that something else might just be GTFC?
