Group: Member Posts: Joined: Fri Aug 22 2008 Status: Offline | When I first watched Town, Lawrie McMenemy had just taken charge and we went on to win the old 4th Division. Stuart Brace and Matt Tees terrorising the defences are my earliest memories. Oh for some of that now! |

 Group: Member Posts: Joined: Wed Nov 7 2007 Status: Offline | All i'll say is that i'm a thirty-something: My best ever town 11 is as follows: Steve Sherwood in goal, right back Macca, left back Gary Croft, centre- halves Paul Futcher and Andy Tillson. Midfield wide men Dave Gilbert and John Oster with John Cockerill and Shaun Cunnington (Skipper) in the middle of the park. Up front (very tough call) but Garry Birtles - pure class - and Clive Mendonca - even classier - get the nod. God, what i'd give to have this 11 in their prime trotting out on Saturday!! |

Its harder than one might think to pick your alltime favourite 11.Theres just so many greats to choose from.I am 31 years old so i am sure if i were a lot older a few of the greats i have chosen might have been a little different. I couldn't help but pick 5 for the bench too,so that i could include a few more.I just chose my 11 & subs on what i believe would be the most effective combination of players.I wouldn't be at all downhearted if i had Birtles in place of Boulding & Gilbert in place of donavon,as both were acceptional greats.Ive seen Oster play of the left flank in the premiership and he is effective in that position & thats why i went with the selection that i did. |
