What's the chances of England battering Estonia tomorrow? None I reckon! We've got about as much penetration as a plastic drill bit. In fact i might get down the bookies and put a fiver on a boring 1-0 or 2-0.....another Terry header winner or Owen penalty or something dull like that.

I'm beginning to wish i was Welsh!

It's negativity like that TT that will get us nowhere.....unless you are Welsh and in disguise!

now listen here, just because my hair has a look of mutton wool about it there's no need for low blows.

I might be "negative" fisheye but at least I'm a realist. in my opinion we have to beat croatia at home and russia both home and away if we're to qualify automatically, and that wont be easy cos Croatia are still unbeaten under Bilic and Hiddink seems to be finally getting the Russians playing. in fact I would say england are the outsiders to qualify despite having players like john terry and steven gerrard. what is there to be positive about?

Mclaren out!

I know it was only a friendly, but it was Brazil. And I know we were always going to let a goal slip in, but Beckham transformed the England team on Friday. He was not fit and not up to scratch during the World Cup - and he's had a few points to prove with England and Real Madrid, but I just don't think McClaren is up to the job. After all, we are perilously close to not qualifying for Euro 2008 and that is unthinkable.

Hang on sarahg1973. I didn't say we wouldnt beat estonia. I said we wouldnt beat them convincingly. ok I was wrong about that but had it not been for beckham I might not have been.

My point about McLaren remains. If we beat croatia and get four points out of the Ruskies I'll take it all back and eat a big slice of the biggest humble pie you can cook up. But until that day I want him out

It is a fair point about who else is there out to pick from. To be honest I'm struggling to think of anyone english and I dont fancy another fpreigner. So as much as I disapprove of mclaren - a man one paper this week described as "a No 2 in the No 1's job" - you've got me stumped!

And I quote....

"What's the chances of England battering Estonia tomorrow? None I reckon"

I agree though, Beckham made all the difference, and it was far from convincing. Owen is certainly not the answer... he got lucky with the goal, anyone could have scored from there.

And I quote: "I said we wouldnt beat them convincingly. ok I was wrong about that"

I've admitted I was proved wrong already. What do you want me to do? - walk round with my pants around my ankles.

And can I just say its slightly ironic that one minute you're slagigng me off but the next you're agreeing with me on beckham. Are you playing hard to get sarah?

As for Owen, he's should still be one of the first names on the team sheet for me. And if you get rid of him who would you bring in? Dont say Andy Johnson, spare me that much.

You can have your pants round your ankles all you want....you still haven't given us an alternative to McClaren!
Any ideas sarahg???

Hey, whatever floats yer boat Tim! Just mind you don't trip up, that WOULD be a shame! And no, AJ is almost as useless as Owen! I dunno who will provide us with goals, although I think Beckham providing plenty of balls in the box for Crouch won't be a huge mistake.

As for England Manager - Jose once he is booted! Anyone is better than puppet-boy Maclaren, he's not really the manager anyway, we all know who is calling the shots there!

i agree with tim, mclaren is useless and i wouldn't even want him as ballboy in my setup eh...and as for who is there to replace him, theres plenty of candidates allthough i can tell you now it would be jose over my dead body sarah lol

my top 10 england manager candidates

1, Alex Ferguson (Legend)
2, Arsene Venger (Legend)
3, Sven (Again)
4, Steve Copell (worked wonders at reading)
5, Mark Hughes (worked miracles with the welsh squad)
6, Terry Venables (a good allrounder with vast knowledge and a personality to boot)
7, David Moyes (under the circumstances has done brilliant at everton)
8, Martin o'Neill (tactically elite)
9, Peter Taylor (a jack russel & more than familar with the england setup)
10, Alan Buckley (lol might be fun in a virtual world)

There's no way in the world Ferguson would take it...He's as big a Scot as they come and we all know their feelings towards the English!!!

Wenger may have a stab though
